Fieramilanocity is the historical site for the Milan Fair (from the hotel, take the M1 metro and get off at the Amendola - Fiera stop), where world famous exhibitions have taken place, such as Milanovendemoda, Smau, Bit and a range of international conferences. It is currently utilised for minor events.
Since 2005, a new location for the Milan Fair has emerged (Fieramilano Rho/Pero), in a large area between Rho and Pero. This widespread exhibition area, designed by architect Massimiliano Fuksas, is composed of 8 large pavilions with an adjacent 74 meeting rooms, 84 food and beverage points, as well as parking for more than 10,000 vehicles and a metro station inside the structure (terminus M1 Rho - Fiera)
Expo 2015, an exhibition event of an international nature, will take place in the Fieramilano Rho-Pero grounds.
The Milan Fair hosts events of an international nature, such as MACEF - Salone Internazionale Della Casa (International Home Show at Fieramilano), BIT - Borsa Internazionale del Turismo (International Tourism Exchange at Fieramilano), Milano Prêt-à-Porter - Presentazione internazionale collezioni pret-à-porter donna e accessori (International presentation of pret-à-porter collections for women and accessories at Fieramilanocity), and many more.
The Milan Fair, with its two exhibition grounds (Fieramilanocity and Fieramilano Rho-Pero), offers an exhibition area totalling 753,000 m² and constitutes Europe's largest fair ground.
